Addressing his fellow Dominican citizens at a special celebration in Dubai to mark the 40th Anniversary of Independence of the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Honorable Prime Minister Roosevelt Skeritt announced that the Caribbean nation is in the final stages of preparation for establishing its Embassy in the UAE. The Embassy, which is expected to open next year in Abu Dhabi, will be subsequently followed by a Consulate General in Dubai.
Speaking to the audience at a special reception held at the Kempinski Palm Jumeirah on December 1st, PM Skerrit announced that the Ambassador (Designate) to the UAE will be experienced diplomat Hubert J. Charles, Dominica’s former Ambassador to the United States and the Organization of American States. Arrangements are being finalized for the formal presentation of credentials to the UAE Government.
Dominica’s UAE Embassy will be the first established by the Caribbean nation in the Middle East. The news was very positively received by the many persons in the region who have joined the nation’s citizenry through its highly successful and respected Citizenship by Investment Program. Dominican law allows the country to grant citizenship to qualified individuals who invest in the country through the investment routes set out in its Citizenship by Investment Program. The granting of citizenship is regulated and protected by the country’s Constitution and is irrevocable once granted to eligible persons who have fulfilled the strict due diligence requirements of the program.
